Written by the Tauro Workwear team, ex-tradesmen turned workwear trouser designers
Short answer: the right Snickers 6341 alternative depends on which part of the 6341 you actually use. If you need certified knee protection, the Mascot Unique 17731 is the closest like-for-like for a bit less money. If you mainly want a slim cut, stretch and somewhere to put your fixings, the Tauro Ranger (£74.99) and the Scruffs Pro Flex Plus Holster (£72.99) come in £9 to £11 under the cheapest 6341 we found, and both have holster pockets the 6341 does not.
Plenty of tradesmen wear the 6341 and rate it. Plenty more pick a pair up, see the price, and put it back on the rail. This guide is for the second lot. We have looked at five trousers that genuinely compete with it, priced from current UK listings, and we are straight about what each one gives up against the Snickers. We make two of them, so factor in our bias and judge the facts.
What does the Snickers 6341 get right?
Before looking for a Snickers 6341 alternative, be clear why people buy it in the first place.
- The KneeGuard system is certified. The 6341 is certified to EN 14404 for knee protection when you use the correct Snickers knee pads. If you spend your day kneeling on screed, laying floors or fixing skirting, that certification is the difference between a pocket that holds a pad and a system that has been tested to protect your knees.
- Colour and leg length choice. Start Safety lists the 6341 in ten colourways, from black and navy to white, khaki green and true blue, with leg lengths from 28" to 37". Tall, short or decorating in white, Snickers has you covered.
- Pre-bent legs and smart stretch. The cut is slim with pre-bent legs. Retailer spec sheets list a stretch polycotton (check the current listing) base fabric with 2-way stretch, 4-way stretch panels at the back and stretch Cordura at the knees and crotch.
- Track record. Snickers is a Swedish brand with decades on UK sites behind it. Most trade suppliers stock it.
If those four things are what you need, the 6341 earns its price.
Why look for a Snickers 6341 alternative?
Price. The cheapest 6341 listing we found was £84.29 in black at Start Safety, and many UK listings sit above £100. PriceSpy's lowest tracked price was £102.98 when we checked. That is before you buy the Snickers knee pads you need for the certification to count.
No holster pockets. This catches people out. The 6341 is the version without holster pockets. Snickers sells the holster version as the 6241. If you are a chippy on first fix, a roofer, or a spark running cable and carrying clips and screws, holster pockets are not optional.
You do not need the full system. If you kneel now and again rather than all day, and you are not on a site that demands EN 14404, you are paying for engineering you will not use.
The 5 best Snickers 6341 alternatives in the UK
All prices are from the brand's UK listing or a major UK retailer's listing, checked October 2026. Prices move, so check before you buy.
1. Tauro Ranger: £74.99
The Tauro Ranger is our top-tier trouser and the one we would put up against the 6341 for daily wear. It is 98% cotton and 2% elastane, so it feels more like a proper cotton trouser than a technical polyester one, with 100% polyamide Cordura on the knee pad pockets, thigh pocket, back pockets and holster mounts. It has removable Cordura holster pockets, a flapped thigh pocket, a small zipped pocket, a ruler pocket with a mobile pocket, a hammer loop and a key-ring loop on the waistband. The cut is slim through the thigh and leg.
Who it suits: sparks, plumbers, plasterers and chippies who want one trouser for first fix and second fix, with holster pockets they can take off for the tidy days.
What you give up against the 6341: the knee pad pockets take standard inserts but are not certified to EN 14404. It comes in black only, in a 32" regular leg only, waist 30" to 40". There are no 4-way stretch panels, and we have not published a fabric weight yet. It is rated 4.14 out of 5 from 7 verified reviews.
2. Tauro Rampage: £64.99
The Tauro Rampage is our best seller. It is 60% cotton, 38% polyester and 2% elastane, with Cordura on the knee pad pockets, thighs and back pockets, plus removable Cordura-reinforced holster pockets. You get two side pockets, a thigh pocket with a reinforced mobile pocket, a ruler pocket, a knife holder, a hammer loop and two reinforced back pockets. Rated 4.83 out of 5 from 6 verified reviews.
Who it suits: groundworkers, bricklayers and anyone on heavier, mucky work who wants a slim trouser that takes a beating without costing the earth when it gets wrecked in a trench.
What you give up against the 6341: same as the Ranger. No EN 14404 certification, black only, 32" leg only, no published fabric weight. The polycotton blend is a little less soft than the Ranger's cotton.
3. Scruffs Pro Flex Plus Holster: £72.99
Two genuine strengths first. You can walk into most Screwfix branches and try a pair on, which no direct brand can match. And the fabric is properly stretchy: Screwfix lists it as 92% nylon and 8% elastane with 4-way stretch throughout. It has a slim cut, two holster pockets, Cordura-reinforced top-loading knee pad pockets with two height positions, plus cargo, ruler, phone and zipped pockets.
Who it suits: tradesmen who want maximum stretch for climbing in and out of lofts and under sinks, and who like to buy over the counter.
What you give up against the 6341: the Screwfix listing does not mention EN 14404, and it is listed in black only. Nylon also feels different from a cotton blend, which some love and some do not.
4. Mascot Unique 17731: £77.39
If the reason you buy Snickers is certified knee protection, this is the one to look at. Mascot is a serious Danish workwear brand, and the 17731 is listed as co-certified to EN 14404 with Mascot's own knee pads. The knee pad pockets are adjustable 1000D Cordura with a flap to keep muck out, and the holster pockets are adjustable Cordura too. Tuffshop lists the fabric as 65% polyester, 35% cotton at 270 g/m².
Who it suits: tilers, floor layers and anyone kneeling for hours who wants a certified system without paying Snickers money.
What you give up against the 6341: the saving is small, around £7 against the cheapest 6341 we found. The listings we checked do not mention stretch fabric, and the colour choice is much narrower.
5. DeWalt Pro Tradesman: £41.99
Half the price of a 6341. Screwfix lists it as 65% polyester, 35% cotton at 260 g/m², with top-loading Cordura-reinforced knee pad pockets, a holster pocket, three side pockets, two back pockets and a phone pocket. It is a straight leg rather than a slim one.
Who it suits: apprentices, labourers, or a spare pair for Kango work and mixing mortar.
What you give up against the 6341: a lot. No stretch is stated, the leg is straight not slim, EN 14404 is not mentioned on the listing, and the knee pads are sold separately.
What about Snickers' own cheaper lines?
They do not save you much. The 6241, the holster version of the 6341, was listed from £80.76 in black at Start Safety, which is actually a few quid under the 6341 at the same shop. The Snickers 3212 DuraTwill holster trouser was £84.99 at Screwfix. Staying with Snickers? The 6241 at least adds holster pockets.

Who should stick with the Snickers 6341?
We would rather you bought the right trouser than ours. Stay with the 6341 if:
- You kneel all day and need certified protection. Floor layers, tilers and anyone on their knees on concrete for hours should be in a trouser and pad system certified to EN 14404. The 6341 with the correct Snickers pads is exactly that. Tauro trousers are not.
- You need a leg that is not 32". Snickers does 28" to 37". We only do a 32" regular leg right now.
- You need a colour other than black. White for decorating, hi-vis contrast, or a company colour: Snickers has ten colourways of the 6341 alone. We do black.
- Your employer pays. If the 6341 is on the company kit list, take it.
- You already own Snickers pads. They are designed for the KneeGuard pockets, and the certification depends on the pairing.
Which Snickers 6341 alternative should you buy?
- Want certified knee protection for less: Mascot Unique 17731.
- Want the most stretch, and to try before you buy: Scruffs Pro Flex Plus Holster.
- Want a slim, cotton-rich daily trouser with holster pockets: Tauro Ranger.
- Want the cheapest slim trouser with holster pockets here: Tauro Rampage.
- Want a spare pair for wrecking: DeWalt Pro Tradesman.
On sizing: our trousers are cut slim, not small. If you are between sizes or coming from baggy workwear, size up on the waist. The size guide has the measurements. You can see the full range in our slim fit work trousers collection.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good alternative to Snickers 6341 trousers?
It depends what you want from the 6341. For certified knee protection, the Mascot Unique 17731 is the closest match and was listed at £77.39. For a slim cut, stretch and holster pockets for less money, look at the Tauro Ranger at £74.99 or the Scruffs Pro Flex Plus Holster at £72.99. For a cheap spare pair, the DeWalt Pro Tradesman was £41.99 at Screwfix.
Are there work trousers cheaper than Snickers with knee pad pockets?
Yes. Every alternative in this guide has knee pad pockets and costs less than the cheapest 6341 listing we found (£84.29 at Start Safety). The Tauro Rampage is £64.99 and the DeWalt Pro Tradesman was £41.99. The catch is certification: most cheaper trousers are not certified to EN 14404, so check that if your site or job requires it.
Does the Snickers 6341 have holster pockets?
No. The 6341 is the AllroundWork stretch trouser without holster pockets. Snickers sells the holster version as the 6241, which was listed from £80.76 in black at Start Safety in October 2026. If you carry screws, fixings or a tape on your hip all day, you want the 6241 or an alternative with holster pockets built in.
Are Tauro knee pad pockets EN 14404 certified?
No. Tauro knee pad pockets take standard knee pad inserts and are Cordura reinforced, but the trousers are not certified to EN 14404. If your site, employer or the job itself requires certified knee protection, buy a trouser and pad system that is certified together, such as the Snickers 6341 with the correct Snickers pads.
Is Scruffs as good as Snickers?
They do different jobs. The Scruffs Pro Flex Plus Holster is 92% nylon and 8% elastane with 4-way stretch throughout, two holster pockets and a slim cut, for £72.99 at Screwfix. The Snickers 6341 has a certified KneeGuard system, pre-bent legs, ten colourways and a choice of leg lengths. Scruffs is the better value buy, Snickers the more complete system.
Try them for 30 days
