Snickers vs Tauro Workwear: An Honest Comparison

We'll be straight with you - Snickers makes good work trousers. They've been doing it for decades and their reputation is earned. But good isn't the same as right for everyone, and at two to three times the price of Tauro, the question worth asking is: what are you actually paying for?

This is an honest comparison. We're biased - we make Tauro - but we'll tell you when Snickers wins too.

Price

Snickers slim fit trousers (the 6341 AllroundWork) retail at 90-120 depending on where you buy them. Tauro's Rampage Trouser is 59.99. The Outlaw is 55.99.

That's a 30-60 difference per pair. If you're replacing trousers every six months - which most tradespeople do - that's 60-120 a year saved. Enough for a decent set of tools.

Winner: Tauro.

Fit

Both brands offer slim fit options. Snickers' 6341 is their slim fit line - genuinely well cut, good through the thigh, decent stretch. Their fit is designed around a European build which can run slightly narrow in the seat for some UK tradespeople.

Tauro's slim fit is designed specifically for the UK market. The cut is slim without being restrictive, with 2% elastane throughout for mobility. Forum feedback on Snickers consistently mentions sizing up - same story with Tauro, which is why we're upfront about it in our size guide.

Winner: Draw - both fit well when sized correctly.

Fabric and durability

Snickers uses their own proprietary fabric blends - typically a polyester/cotton/elastane mix with Cordura reinforcement on wear areas. Their fabric quality is excellent and their trousers are known to last.

Tauro uses 60% cotton, 38% polyester, 2% elastane for the main body with 100% Polyamide Cordura on all reinforced areas - thighs, knee pockets, back pockets. It's the same reinforcement standard as premium workwear brands at a significantly lower price point.

Winner: Snickers edges it on long-term durability reputation - but Tauro closes the gap significantly with Cordura reinforcement throughout.

Pockets

Snickers' holster pocket system is well-designed and their tool pocket placement is considered - they've had decades to get it right. The 6241 (with holsters) gives you good tool access without excessive bulk.

Tauro's Rampage features fully removable holster pockets - a key advantage. You can run them full when you need the storage and remove them entirely when you don't. Snickers' holsters are fixed. For versatility, Tauro wins this one.

Winner: Tauro - removable holsters give you more flexibility.

Where to buy

Snickers is sold through trade distributors - ITS, Snickers Direct, various online retailers. Prices vary and you're often paying retailer markup on top of the brand premium.

Tauro is DTC - direct to you, direct from us. No distributor markup, no middleman. Free UK delivery, free returns. Simpler and cheaper.

Winner: Tauro - DTC means lower prices and easier returns.

Brand and community

Snickers has decades of brand equity. You'll see their logo on site managers and experienced tradespeople across the UK. There's a status element to Snickers - it signals you know your workwear.

Tauro is the new challenger. We're built for a generation of tradespeople who don't want to wear what their dad wore. The brand is younger, the aesthetic is sharper, and the price means you can replace them when they wear out rather than nursing a 120 pair for three years.

Winner: Depends what you're after. Snickers for established credibility. Tauro for the next generation.

The verdict

If money is no object and durability over three-plus years is your priority - Snickers is hard to fault. They make excellent workwear.

If you want slim fit, quality construction, and Cordura reinforcement at a price that doesn't require a second thought - Tauro is the better value by a significant margin. Same core spec, same reinforcement materials, 30-60 cheaper per pair.

We think most tradespeople, given the choice, would rather have two pairs of Tauro than one pair of Snickers. But try them and see - that's what free returns are for.
